2008 Honda CR-V Review Summary
The 2008 Honda CR-V does a lot of things well and is ranked number 2 by Allcarguides.com in the Affordable Compact SUV. It was fully redesigned in 2007 so very few changes in 2008, only to the EX trim. It does a lot of things well – carries 5 passengers, lots of cargo, smart interior and exterior design etc - But has a slightly underpowered engine. With an entry price of around $20,000 and being so versatile it is easy to overlook its flaws. Given relative pokey acceleration one would expect even better gas mileage. The CR-V is a front wheel drive compact SUV powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine which produces 166 hp and 16 torque – all upgraded in the 2007 model year. In 2008 Honda eliminated the third row which was not very practical given its small size.

2008 Honda CR-V Review Handling
The Honda CR-V is very agile when compared to most other compact SUVs, the steering that provides good feedback, ride quality comfortable and the cabin is well-better insulated from road noise than in the past all points noted by motortrend, edmunds, caranddriver. As caranddriver stated, it is great for drivers who like to sit high in a small car. Also, of note, the CR-V has not grown in size and weight which differs from Toyota RAV4.

2008 Honda CR-V Review Safety
Honda CR-V comes with many standard features, including antilock disc brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. A backup camera is available only on EX-L models equipped with the navigation system. The CR-V performed very well in government crash tests, receiving a perfect five stars for both front and side crash protection.

2008 Honda CR-V Noteworthy
Many reviewers noted that Honda worked on the interior details and exterior with great care such as ergonomics, parent friendly details and doors are indented to prevent dings in parking lots. As noted by caranddriver, “the CR-V is a model of ergonomic efficiency.” The Honda CR-V's interior feels large and versatile and the cargo area reaches 73 cubic feet of space. Also, there are plenty of bins, cubbies and cupholders. It has optional all wheel which is triggered when the front tires have slippage.
