2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata Review Summary The 2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata, ranked 8.5 by ACG, is an affordable sports car that isn’t quite as powerful as competitors like the Saturn Sky or Pontiac Solstice, but it more than makes up for with its precise steering and handling. Only minor features like a manual driver’s-seat lift and tire pressure monitor have been added for 2008 in addition to a new Special Edition trim level and a 5-horsepower drop for automatic transmission-equipped Miatas. The 2008 MX-5 comes in several trims including the SV, Sport, Touring, Grand Touring and Special Edition. One universal 2.0-liter (166 horsepower and 158 with the automatic transmission) powers the MX-5 and three transmission options are available. Also available is a slick, Power Retractable Hard Top (PRHT) in either the Sport, Touring or Grand Touring trims that only ads an additional 70 pounds more than the ragtop and doesn’t decrease the MX-5’s 5.3 cubic foot trunk space when retracted. Reviewers praised Mazda’s legendary roadster for its tight, balanced handling, fuel economy, reasonable price, trusted reliability and overall enjoyment it brings its driver. That said, reviewers were disappointed with MX-5’s limited driver and passenger room, underpowered base stereo system, lack of stability control on base models and its noise level above 60 mph.
2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata Noteworthy The 2008 MX-5 Miata outclasses competitors like the Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice with superior handling and a retractable hard top not offered in other sports cars in its class.
The 2008 Ford F-150 lineup offers three cab styles, two bed styles and three lengths, six wheelbase choices, six model designations, and three drive systems. Starting with the least expensive, the trim levels include XL, STX, XLT, FX, and Lariat. Within the Lariat group are...
The 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SE ($21,740) uses the smallest of the three available engines, a 3.3-liter overhead-valve V6 mated to a four-speed automatic transaxle. Seating is two-two-three, with the Stow 'n Go (second- and third-row seats fold flat, into the floor) optional as part of a ...
