2010 Ford Mustang Review Summary
As most car enthusiasts would expect, the refreshed and retooled 2010 Ford Mustang, ranked 8.0 by ACG in the Muscle Cars class, is still one of the best options for a classic look and performance. The newest incarnation of the Ford pony even boasts an extremely class competitive price tag and fuel economy. Indeed, the Mustang gets 18 miles per gallon in the city, which is one more than its most fierce competitor, the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. The 2010 mustang comes as both a coupe and a convertible, and is available in several trims from the base V6 to the much-coveted Shelby GT500. When it comes to performance, the 2010 Mustang lives up to its past generations. Reviewers have praised the Mustang for its extremely powerful engine and transmission options. The V6 and V6 Premium come equipped with a 4.0-liter V6 engine that creates 210 horsepower at 5,300 RPM and 240 pound-feet of torque at 3,500 RPM. The GT and GT Premium feature an even stronger 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces 315 horsepower at 5,000 RPM and 325 pound-feet of torque at 4,250 RPM. Critics have noted that the V6 base models provide quick acceleration, but as one might expect, nothing compared to the V8. Ford has given the Mustang a major exterior and interior face-lift for 2010 to help it more easily compete with the likes of the Chevy Camaro and Dodge Charger. The Mustang now features a more compact and bold exterior look. Indeed, reviewers have described the overall design as cleaner and more muscular. The interior has also received a boost for 2010. Premium soft-touch materials, better ergonomics, and several new modern convenience features highlight the changes to the Mustang’s interior. Several have made mention of the fact that the Mustang is less noisy than in previous years, and the cabin has a much more inviting feel than ever before. Topping the impressive list of standard and optional interior features is the color changing illumination system and Ford’s SYNC infotainment system. The illumination system allows the driver to choose from many illumination colors for the gauges. The 2010 Mustang’s seating is very comfortable for adults in the front and kids in the back, but some reviewers note that the seats could use more lateral support. As far as space is concerned, the Mustang now provides 13.4 cubic feet of trunk space, while the convertible offers 9.6 cubic feet. While these numbers might seem low, they are actually very competitive within the Muscle Cars class. Overall, the Mustang is a no-brainer for those seeking classic style and performance, and a much improved interior and exterior.

2010 Ford Mustang Review Handling
Reviewers praise the 2010 Mustang for its fantastic handling. The GT is significantly more responsive and the steering feels quicker and more precise. Changes in the suspension, especially the spring rates and shock damping, translate to reduced body roll though corners and less back-and-forth movement during acceleration and braking. Overall, the Mustang offers a controlled ride with competent cornering and plenty of grip.

2010 Ford Mustang Review Safety
The 2010 Mustang has scored extraordinarily well on standard safety tests. Indeed, in tests conducted by the federal government, it received a top score of five stars in front and side impacts, as well as rollover tests. That said, the convertible version has not yet been tested. Standard safety features on the Mustang include: dual-stage front airbags, front-seat side airbags, All-Speed Traction Control, and AdvanceTrac electronic stability control.

2010 Ford Mustang Noteworthy
According to Motor Trend, the 2010 Ford Mustang GT hits 60 miles per hour in 5.2 seconds, which is a tenth quicker than the previous generation GT. The Mustang also makes it to the quarter mile mark in 13.7 seconds at 103.7 miles per hour, two tenths quicker and 2 miles per hour faster than the 2008 GT.
