2010 Scion tC Review Summary
Overview: When it comes to purchasing something stylish, customizable, and rather inexpensive, the 2010 Scion tC, ranked 10th by ACG in the Affordable Small Cars class, wins it all. Although it may not offer much power with its 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, it does provide adequate handling and comfort for drivers. For a two door coupe the tC offers much comfort from its supportive front seats, but lacks sufficient leg room because the rear seats themselves offer very little leg space. Reviewers note that front seat head room is adequate for its class. The Scion was able to provide back seats where the average adult can sit comfortably, which is somewhat impressive, especially since the coupe also offers a roomy cargo space, providing a stunning 35 cubic feet of space with the rear seats folded down. The 2010 Scion tC is available in two trim levels, base and limited-production Release Series 6.0 which both include a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 161 horsepower and 162 pound-feet torque. They also include 17-inch alloy wheels, 5-speed manual transmission, or an optional 4-speed automatic. Being a coupe, drivers expect rather impressive acceleration considering; however, the Scion’s sprint speed from 0-60 mph finds itself in a mid-8-second range. Clearly the tC isn't exactly a sports car. With the dealer-installed supercharger, however, the tC is boosted to 200 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque which cut acceleration down to 7.2 seconds. With such low end performance for a small car drivers also expect the fuel economy to be more than remarkable. The tC, however, earned a slightly below average EPA fuel economy with an estimate of 24 mpg/city. It’s not all bad, though. What the tC lacks in power and economy it makes up for in style. The tC’s interior design is made from upscale materials, reviewers note, and overlooking the hard plastic found here and there, the overall design is clean and matches the car's exterior sleek shape. Matching the car's stylized interior is, of course, the Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo, credited as crisp and powerful by most reviewers. The system is MP3 and satellite-radio ready, and comes with six speakers and two tweeters. The LCD plate can also be customized with downloadable skins offered by Pioneer. Overall, with the money saved on buying a base model 2010 Scion tC, a consumers can always dish out a little bit extra to upgrade the engine or the exterior look of the car if they want.

2010 Scion tC Review Handling
The Scion tC doesn’t perform remarkably when it comes to handling. It handles adequately when compared to most cars in its class, and the ride is relatively comfortable for a budget-priced compact coupe.

2010 Scion tC Review Safety
The tC comes standard with anti-lock disc brakes, front side airbags, full-length head curtain airbags, and a driver knee airbag. It received a perfect five stars for driver protection and four out of five stars for passenger protection from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, while side-impact testing yielded another perfect five stars for both front and rear passenger protection.

2010 Scion tC Noteworthy
With a base price that is below $19,000, the 2010 Scion tC is one of the most affordable cars in its class.
