2010 Volkswagen CC Review Summary
For those who are attracted to the look of the Volkswagen Passat, and are seeking an automobile that has the functionality and practicality of a family sedan with a little more flare and excitement, the 2010 Volkswagen CC, ranked 8.0 by ACG in the Upscale Midsize Cars class, is a good choice. Indeed, in most models the CC is also extremely price sensitive and good on fuel. The 2010 CC comes available in four trim levels. The base Sport edition carries a turbocharged four-cylinder engine along with front-wheel drive. A Luxury version comes available with the same engine, but more upscale features. The VR6 Sport model comes with a more powerful V6 engine, and lastly, a VR6 4Motion adds all-wheel drive to the V6 and comes with a price tag that is almost as high as what one could pay for a BMW or Cadillac CTS. When it comes to performance, the two available engines on the CC get differing feedback from reviewers. On the one hand, a 2.0-liter four cylinder engine gets nothing but praise for its combination of strong acceleration, solid highway-passing power, and extremely good fuel economy that one would expect of a four cylinder engine. On the other hand, although critics agree that the larger, 3.6-liter engine is stronger and offers better acceleration, it comes with such a high price tag that the slightly boosted performance really isn’t worth the extra dough. While the engines on the CC get mixed feedback, the exterior of the car does not. In fact, nearly all reviewers find the sleek styling of the proclaimed “four-door coupe” to be nothing short of stunning. This car is certainly one of the prettiest vehicles in this category. The interior passenger cabin of the CC also receives much praise. In particular, critics like the sharp two-tone color scheme of the seating, as well as the high-grade materials and user-friendly interior technology. The strongest of the CC’s interior features would definitely be its navigation and audio controls. In years past, Volkswagen used to offer the worst when it came to this department, but now it offers perhaps the best in its class. When it comes to passenger seating, the 2010 Volkswagen CC further impresses, especially the front seats. According to most critics, the front seats’ two-toned upholstery and contrasting stitching seem to belong in a vehicle far more expensive. The rear seating of the CC is also well made, but some reviewers aren’t in love with the fact that Volkswagen replaced the rear bench seat with two-bucket seats that have a storage unit between them. Additionally, the back seats are a little tight for adults. Lastly, like many cars in this category, cargo space is a sore subject for the 2010 CC. With only 13 cubic feet, its trunk is one of the smallest in the Upscale Midsize Cars class, and isn’t easy to get into either.

2010 Volkswagen CC Review Handling
If you’re looking for precision handling, the 2010 Volkswagen CC definitely isn’t the best choice in this class. Overall, however, the feedback on the CC’s handling is mixed. While some critics feel that the car’s handling is well balanced, others say the speed-sensitive electronic steering could use a lot finer tuning. On the positive side, the available all-wheel drive impresses nearly all reviewers, as does the CC’s unusually strong brakes.

2010 Volkswagen CC Review Safety
The 2010 Volkswagen CC received four out of five stars in nearly all federal crash tests, but in particular it earned five stars for protecting the driver in a side-impact accident. The CC comes with the following standard safety features: front, front-side, side-head-curtain airbags, stability and traction control, as well as four-wheel antilock disc brakes with brake assist.

2010 Volkswagen CC Noteworthy
Consumers should know that even though the 2010 Volkswagen CC isn’t up to par with the likes of the BMW 3-Series and Cadillac CTS when it comes to performance, it isn’t all that bad either. In fact, the Los Angeles Times writes, “It’s quick—0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, with the V6 and all wheel drive. It stays well-planted in corners, tacks eagerly and puts on the coal when you ask it to.”
